Dear Teachers and Students:

 

On behalf of the Chicago Herpetological Society we thank you for your interest in ReptileFest and invite teachers, students and their families to the largest, most dynamic, live educational herpetological event in the country!

The CHS is one of the most established regional herpetological organizations in the United States, and in 2013 we had our twentieth annual Reptile Fest, occurring in April each year.

Every year our society and its members are eager to exhibit their animals while sharing their enthusiasm, passion, knowledge and dedication to educating the public about these fascinating creatures.

With literally hundreds of animals on display, you will experience learning at its most interactive, fun and hands-on best. AND WE DO MEAN HANDS-ON! There is simply no classroom, zoo or educational event like ReptileFest.

Visitors of all ages are consistently wowed by ReptileFest year after year. Young learners leave the show with new insights and big smiles, advanced students interact with species they may never have encountered otherwise, and our feedback from teachers is always enthusiastic. Partnering with ReptileFest adds living color to science curriculums at any level.

The CHS is an all-volunteer, not for profit organization and many of its members are educators. The funds generated by ReptileFest are invested into herpetologic field research, donations to conservation groups and continued support of public education and outreach efforts.

Year in and year out our main mission is education! ReptileFest is a sponsor of the regional CPS science fair, and some teachers arrange large group outings with multiple classes or science clubs. We LOVE seeing participation from local schools and would love for your class to join us! If you want to bring a large number of students, group discounts can also be arranged so please inquire about them if you plan on bringing your class or the entire school with! 

The ReptileFest experience can stimulate curiosity and promote learning at every level! We hope you will consider exploring ReptileFest and the CHS is certain you will be pleased if you do.
